There is something about the word tradition that equates with family time, whether that is your nuclear family (spouse and kids) or extended family (parents, aunts, uncles, cousins).
This week’s topic from Let’s Blog Off is all about traditions: Â http://letsblogoff.com/what-traditions-do-you-carry-on.html (more…)

First of all, it is important to realize that everyone has a different vision of just what a perfect home looks like. To some it means that everything matches, others believe that every item within has to have a story behind it. Some people simply believe love surrounds the perfect home. In a sense all of these things are true.
The perfect home surrounds you with warmth, gives you a good feeling all over, and makes you look forward to just being there.
So how do we create that wonderful space in which we are going to want to come home to? Always start with the basics.

It was Ghostly (see house decorated w/ ghosts) Â good fun at Merimont at the 2nd annual homeowner Halloween party!
Halloween was bright and sunshiny – a perfect day for children and parents alike to gather and enjoy each other and community spirit at Merimont as the newest homeowners bonded with those who’ve been here for awhile!

Home is where the heart is….
For some of us home is the place that we grew up, for others it is the home that we share with our significant other, spouse, children or parents as join into help raise children.
The place we call home is an important part of our lives.
At SummerHill, we build a variety of homes from townhome-style condominiums to single-family homes. Â Each of the homes we build shares a common denominator – flexibility! (more…)

I don’t know about you all, but I feel like this year is just going so fast! Can you believe the first day of Spring is tomorrow?!? Weren’t we just recovering from baking cookies at Christmas, paying Valentines Day bills, starting a new school semester and eating corned beef (oh wait- we were just eating corned beef! Corned beef sandwich leftovers are the best!)
Well, as the season would have it, we are springing into action at Redwood Gate and Satake this week with brand new releases of homes.

Here is Principal Mikulik’s response regarding this great score improvement:
“Rollingwood School staff prides ourselves on meeting the needs of ALL children we serve. We provide differentiated instruction in the classroom as well as small group instruction and intervention after school. We teach the whole child (academic, physical, and emotional) which translates into better performance in school. I am proud of our school and offer tours for interested families.”
Check out these photos from the Rollingwood Photo Gallery- these kids are having (dare I say) FUN at school!

As we get ready to enjoy Thanksgiving with our families, we realize that we have a lot for which we can be thankful. This year has been fraught with challenges for many and we haven’t been immune to those challenges. We are a smaller company this year that we were last year.
We’re fortunate to have a family like atmosphere that enabled our team to rise to the new challenges by taking on new responsibilities to exceed our goals.  We’re even more fortunate to have an executive team that has helped us navigate these times through carefully navigating the business needs to mentoring the team to successfully achieve new goals.
There has been a lot of excitement for our company on a personal front as well – several new engagements, a few new babies plus a few on the way, several new homeowners, and much more.

Halloween parties with ghoulish treats, hot drinks and always too much food… Sound familiar?
Probably, and it sounds familiar to me too. Luckily, my family has always had enough (more than enough) food for parties, holidays, and every day. But some folks here in my community aren’t so lucky. Every month the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo counties provides food to more than 207,000 people. (more…)

I thought I was the only parent in the Bay Area helping their adult kids buy homes, now I find I am not alone.
We as parents want our children and especially our grandchildren to live within easy visiting distance.
