So here we all are – bouncing along the housing market bottom. While this bottom bouncing doesn’t feel great, trends indicate that the worst is behind us here in the Bay Area.  So does that mean it’s the time to buy?
Once the foreclosure mess really begins to clear up, say housing economists, the traditional drivers of the housing market—demographics, affordability, loan availability, employment and psychology—should take over.
While we are still working through some foreclosure activity in the Bay Area many of our local housing markets are performing well – with stable to increasing median prices, brief market times and decreasing available housing supply. Â (more…)

California has already received an estimated 7,750 applications and reservations for the  California New Home Tax Credit!  They’re estimating that 70% of the estimated total requested credit is already reaching over $50 million.  Unfortunately, they haven’t finished updating their computer system, so these are all estimates for now.  Time is certainly of the essence to reserve your share of the tax credit.  Merimont, Redwood Gate, Satake Estates, and Village Square all have homes that would be eligible for tax credit.
Now for more of what’s happening in real estate & financial news:

Happy Chinese New Year that is! The 2010 Chinese New Year began on February 14th with the new moon and involves a host of festivities lasting approximately 2 weeks. Welcome the Year of the Tiger (see a traditional chinese papercut version of the tiger below). The Tiger is a sign of bravery and brings protection, courage and power. Sounds to me like a much needed sign for this recovering economy. If you are looking for ways to welcome this encouraging sign, you don’t have to look far! Here are some local ways to celebrate this Chinese New Year!

A few weeks ago, I shared that shared Village Square in San Jose got aÂ
77. Pretty great, right?
And a good Walk Score is not the only thing Village Square offers.
Village Square is really an oasis in the midst of Urban Living. It reminds me of the row homes in San Francisco, but better because the weather in San Jose is pretty awesome year round.
If you’ve been checking out the condominiums in San Jose and wanting a little more space and more storage, you’ve got to check out Village Square. With attached 2-car or 2-car tandem garages, there is plenty of space to store your bikes, skis or snowboards, or just stuff….’Cause we all have stuff that needs a home.

Now I haven’t tried it yet, but I would like to as I am inevitably searching for a the connection cable when I want to download photos at work to upload on our Facebook pages or even here for our blog.
This got me thinking about our new homes. Â One of the things that sometimes goes unnoticed is how easy it is to have your own home network. (more…)
