Traditions = Family Time

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

There is something about the word tradition that equates with family time, whether that is your nuclear family (spouse and kids) or extended family (parents, aunts, uncles, cousins).

This week’s topic from Let’s Blog Off is all about traditions:  http://letsblogoff.com/what-traditions-do-you-carry-on.html (more…)

Run away home

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Yesterday, I attended a Feng Shui presentation for one of our upcoming communities in San Ramon.  Marsha Golangco did the presentation.  When she talked about the heart of the home for one of the plans, she talked about how creating  a sense of warmth in the heart of the home is good Feng Shui.

The new homes at The Enclave at Waverly Park in Mountain View definitely offer this sense of warmth.  Check out this view of the great room in the Residence One – it is enticing both as a gathering place when entertaining family and friend as well as the perfect place to hang out as a family.  A definite sense of warmth of a gathering place right in the heart of the home.

Wine, Wine, Wine

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

Overheard a conversation in our office earlier this week between our CEO (a known wine lover) and a co-worker about wine on Easter.

Both enjoyed wine over the weekend while spending time with family and friends.

Any excuse to sit back and enjoy this gorgeous time of year, sounds like a good time to me!

Happy Year of the Rabbit!

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

Are you ready for the New Year?

Today marks the start of the metal Rabbit year.

Received an email this week that shared that:

Rabbit years are generally very placid and calm, which is quite welcomed after the ferocious year of the Tiger.  It is nice to have some time to rest and lick our wounds after the battles of the previous year.   During a Rabbit year, good taste and refinement shine on all.  While politics and international relations still take front stage, during a Rabbit year, force and aggression are replaced by persuasion and diplomacy.   Rabbit years are filled with enjoyment, entertainment and ease.  Money is made without much labor, as Rabbit years are prosperous ones filled with luxury and leisure.

Some great ideas from Coastside Healing Arts in Half Moon Bay on getting ready for the Chinese New Year: (more…)

December Holiday Design Idea

Monday, December 6th, 2010

If you are like me, you LOVE receiving the holiday cards in the mail.

One of my dearest friends showed me a great way to add the holiday cards to your decorating for the holidays.  Best part – it just takes some yarn and mini wood clothespins from Michael’s.

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

We each have the ability to tune out the noise.  Whether it is not watching the news or taking a break from the internet, sometimes it is just a good idea to tune out the outside noise to realize that we are okay where we are at. Genius, right?

There was a great article “Power of Play” in Cooking Light’s October issue* that highlighted the benefits of playing. (more…)
