SummerHill Homes has been based in Palo Alto for over 30 years. We have a historical tie and firm relationships that we will continue to foster to build more new homes on the Peninsula.
While we’ve always had a strong base on the Peninsula, our move to San Ramon is to recognize that we build throughout the Bay Area.
It may come as a surprise that we’ve moved to San Ramon, but we’ve actually had a satellite office in San Ramon for over 10 years. For many years, this office served principally for our land acquisition team. (more…)

Just ask the residents at SummerHill’s latest sustainable living community – Satake Estates in Mountain View. Each home at the environmentally friendly Satake Estates showcases a beautiful Rain Garden in the front yard. When traveling, we often use Yelp to find a fun local coffee shop with great reviews to get a flavor of the local vibe.
It is fun to explore a town and not stick to the typical Starbucks for coffee. While visiting Portland and Bend recently, we discovered two fun new cafes Bean and Tree in Portland (serves a delicious Lavender Latte) and Backporch Coffee Roasters in Bend (roast their own beans on-site and make a great Cappuccino).
We wouldn’t have found without the Yelp App on the Droid.
This got me thinking, why not use Yelp at home to discover fun new places closer to home? (more…)

It’s been a little over four years since the passing of San José resident and Cambrian Park “go-getter” Carolyn Norris, but her legacy continues to live on with the grand opening of the Carolyn Norris Park, dedicated in her honor.
Join the celebration at the parks official grand opening on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. Attendees will take part in a ceremony celebrating Carolyn’s life and the completion of a wonderful park, along with light refreshments, free face painting and balloon animals.
Carolyn Norris Park, a 1.3 acre park located at 2133 Samaritan Drive between Union and Clydelle Avenues in the center of SummerHill Homes’ Parkwood, which sold out in 2009.
San José’s Vice Mayor Judy Chirco hailed the new park as an ideal addition to District 9’s ever-growing list of public parks and sees the park as a special place for the neighborhood to spend a perfect afternoon and play. (more…)

I don’t know about you all, but I feel like this year is just going so fast! Can you believe the first day of Spring is tomorrow?!? Weren’t we just recovering from baking cookies at Christmas, paying Valentines Day bills, starting a new school semester and eating corned beef (oh wait- we were just eating corned beef! Corned beef sandwich leftovers are the best!)
Well, as the season would have it, we are springing into action at Redwood Gate and Satake this week with brand new releases of homes.
