Have you heard? We’ve Moved! (First post by our CEO!)

Friday, August 27th, 2010

SummerHill Homes has been based in Palo Alto for over 30 years.  We have a historical tie and firm relationships that we will continue to foster to build more new homes on the Peninsula.

While we’ve always had a strong base on the Peninsula, our move to San Ramon is to recognize that we build throughout the Bay Area.

It may come as a surprise that we’ve moved to San Ramon, but we’ve actually had a satellite office in San Ramon for over 10 years.  For many years, this office served principally for our land acquisition team. (more…)

It’s New Home Feed

Monday, May 24th, 2010

As a marketer with limited time, I want to be able to click of a button push all of our listings out to Trulia, Zillow, Google Base, and more.

New Home Feed launched about a month ago and I’ve been testing it in Beta.  It sure is making it easier for me to update listings to all these sites, so that we’re sure that interested homebuyers are getting up to date information. (more…)

New on the Peninsula? What does it mean?

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Turn-key is defined as a spec home ready for immediate move-in, which is much of the “new” on the Peninsula.

SummerHill’s homes are different.  We build brand new from the foundation up.

Depending on when you purchase your home, you get to personalize your home to get more early in the construction of the home and a bit less if you purchase later in the construction of the home.   (more…)

We were thrilled at the turnout – over 50 people in attendance.  Wow what a great party!

Homeowners that recently closed escrow plus homeowners excitedly waiting to move into their new homes joined in the fun.

Children enjoying their brand new play structure!

Discovering a New Local Find in San Bruno

Monday, April 5th, 2010

Tomorrow we’re hosting a broker event at our Merimont community in San Bruno. We wanted to share some tasty treats with our broker partners.   It would be easy to pick up pastries at Starbucks, where we will be getting the coffee, but that just didn’t seem as fun as supporting the local bakery.  I hopped on Yelp and discovered Pastisserie Ganache in San Bruno.

New Releases in Palo Alto and Mt. View

Friday, March 19th, 2010

I don’t know about you all, but I feel like this year is just going so fast! Can you believe the first day of Spring is tomorrow?!? Weren’t we just recovering from baking cookies at Christmas, paying Valentines Day bills, starting a new school semester and eating corned beef (oh wait- we were just eating corned beef! Corned beef sandwich leftovers are the best!)

Well, as the season would have it, we are springing into action at Redwood Gate and Satake this week with brand new releases of homes.

A Round of Applause for Rollingwood Elementary

Monday, March 8th, 2010

We are proud to announce that Merimont’s elementary school, Rollingwood in San Bruno, received a 37 point improvement on the Academic Performance Index (API) scale.

Here is Principal Mikulik’s response regarding this great score improvement:
“Rollingwood School staff prides ourselves on meeting the needs of ALL children we serve. We provide differentiated instruction in the classroom as well as small group instruction and intervention after school. We teach the whole child (academic, physical, and emotional) which translates into better performance in school. I am proud of our school and offer tours for interested families.”

Check out these photos from the Rollingwood Photo Gallery- these kids are having (dare I say) FUN at school!
