Facebook is a source of many, many things. And, it is the source of finding things!
A few discoveries on Facebook recently:
A friend of mine posted a photo of her new home. She purchased a home through the resale market. She posted a few before and after photos of her home as they painted it. One of her friends posted back asking if her home was at a certain address. My friend responded back that it was – low and behold they discovered that she had purchased her friend’s childhood home. Talk about finding something out on Facebook!
We’re planning my grandmother’s 90th birthday and being that all of the grandkids are on Facebook, we took to Facebook to plan her birthday present. We used the inbox feature to keep it a bit private, but within days, we had it all figured out. Oh, and grandma is on Facebook too!
And, that’s not all that can be found on Facebook. Have you checked SummerHill out on Facebook lately? Check out some of the great responses from our homeowners and fans to find out just what is important to them!

When traveling, we often use Yelp to find a fun local coffee shop with great reviews to get a flavor of the local vibe.
It is fun to explore a town and not stick to the typical Starbucks for coffee. While visiting Portland and Bend recently, we discovered two fun new cafes Bean and Tree in Portland (serves a delicious Lavender Latte) and Backporch Coffee Roasters in Bend (roast their own beans on-site and make a great Cappuccino).
We wouldn’t have found without the Yelp App on the Droid.
This got me thinking, why not use Yelp at home to discover fun new places closer to home? (more…)

Okay, it sounds a bit strange, but bear with me. We recently bought a new piece of furniture and I was reminded about how differently animals perceive their surroundings.
Our cat cautiously approached the new piece of furniture, slowly walked around it, then under it before hopping onto it. (more…)

California has already received an estimated 7,750 applications and reservations for the California New Home Tax Credit! They’re estimating that 70% of the estimated total requested credit is already reaching over $50 million. Unfortunately, they haven’t finished updating their computer system, so these are all estimates for now. Time is certainly of the essence to reserve your share of the tax credit. Merimont, Redwood Gate, Satake Estates, and Village Square all have homes that would be eligible for tax credit.
Now for more of what’s happening in real estate & financial news:

As a marketer with limited time, I want to be able to click of a button push all of our listings out to Trulia, Zillow, Google Base, and more.

New Home Feed launched about a month ago and I’ve been testing it in Beta. It sure is making it easier for me to update listings to all these sites, so that we’re sure that interested homebuyers are getting up to date information. (more…)

Home is where the heart is….
For some of us home is the place that we grew up, for others it is the home that we share with our significant other, spouse, children or parents as join into help raise children.
The place we call home is an important part of our lives.
At SummerHill, we build a variety of homes from townhome-style condominiums to single-family homes. Each of the homes we build shares a common denominator – flexibility! (more…)

What would it be like if the invention of the telephone came after email?
Recently I was talking with someone about technology. We were trying to figure out how much is too much of a good thing?
And this led to a conversation about a conversation that they had with someone else about would happen if the order of technology changed? Their friend shared that if the telephone came after email, it might go something like this “cool, I can talk to someone live!”
